Issue 180 – April 2024

John Drake

Welcome to another packed edition of Community News.

I need to begin by saying thank you to everyone who has been in touch with kind comments and words of encouragement since the February issue was published, which was the first to be produced by the new editorial team. We really appreciate it.

Also, thank you to all our advertisers for your generous and continued support. We are delighted to welcome some new advertisers on board in this issue.

This is beginning to sound like an Oscars acceptance speech, but I have one more thank you to make, and that is to our dedicated team of distributors who go out in all weathers to get the magazine delivered to your door. They really are the best. We are always on the lookout for new volunteers to join the team (particularly in Rathmell and Eldroth) to ease the load and help us reach every home in the district, so if you’d like to help, drop an email to distribution@settlenews.co.uk and we will be in touch with more details. Also, if you know of any ‘blind spots’ that we’re not reaching at the moment, do tell us.

There is a French flavour to our cover, as Settle is preparing to host visitors from its twin town of Banyuls-sur-Mer in May.

Lots of interesting activities are being planned, and if you’d like to be involved in some of them, helping to give our guests a great big Yorkshire welcome, click here to find out more.
