Planning for the 10th Hellifield Beer Festival is now well underway and will once again be held at the Village Hall (Institute) in Hellifield. In a change from tradition following the refurbishment of the Yorke Room, the bar will now be located in the main hall. This will give the festival a fresh feel and we believe that it will work just as well if not better than before.
Since its inception in 2013, just over £30,000 has been raised by the festival and recycled back into Hellifield village and close surrounding areas to support local organisations, groups, and events. Over the years we have helped 37 organisations with many benefitting multiple times.
The main focus of the festival is to create a great annual event for the village, providing a fun weekend where you can meet up with friends old and new, and sample the many and varied beers and ciders on offer. The Beer Festival Committee is planning to provide around 45 beers and ciders from a wide range of brewers and locations.
All this would not be possible without the generosity of our sponsors – without their support there would be no festival, and our grateful thanks go to all past and present sponsors, and supporters. This year we have already secured a glass sponsor and a venue sponsor and are now directing efforts towards generating the barrel sponsors, many of whom continue to support us year after year. Barrel sponsors include a mix of businesses in addition to many individuals all eager to support a great annual event that also raises money for local good causes. If you can offer sponsorship, please let one of the Committee members know or email us at hellifieldbeerfestival@outlook.com.
Sponsorship is £100 for a full barrel and £55 for a half barrel. The benefits of barrel sponsorship are shown on the website along with lots of festival info (just Google Hellifield Beer Festival 2024).
The event runs from lunchtime until 11pm on both the Friday and Saturday – come down anytime during these hours. It is relaxed and informal, and welcomes new faces and beer festival novices, as well as seasoned regulars. The Committee is very grateful to all those who come along to support this event.
There are no advanced tickets; just turn up on the day and join in the fun. The entrance fee includes a programme, commemorative glass, and your first two drinks tokens. Once you have paid you can come and go as much as you like over the weekend as long as you keep your glass. Additional drinks are then purchased via a token system. We accept card as well as cash. Food is also available over the two-day festival provided so fantastically by the guys at Hellifield Sports FC.
If you have never been before, come along and have some fun; you will really enjoy it. If you have been before – we can’t wait to see you again.
