Kids Corner – Book Review

The Barnabus Project

The Barnabus Project
by The Fan Brothers

Bobby chose the Barnabas Project as one of his favourite books. He borrowed it from Settle Community Library recently and said “I like it because it is about a pet shop and underneath there is a laboratory.”
The book is about a group of ‘failed projects’ which are pets designed to please, but something went wrong with them. Rather than be recycled, Barnabus – half mouse and half elephant – decides to try to escape, along with the others who had failed to be perfect. There are scary times ahead, but the misfits have to work together to find a better life.
An imaginative story of hope in an apparently hopeless situation. A book an older child could read themselves and any child could enjoy the beautiful illustrations.
