Mayor of York and North Yorkshire and climate action
The new mayor of York and North Yorkshire, Labour’s David Skaith will be well placed to take significant climate action, for example: improving transport through a consolidated, devolved, multi-year transport settlement promising to ‘connect our communities with a new transport system with affordable fares, new bus routes and a Mayor’s Pothole Fund’.
We will be keeping a close watch, along with climate action group colleagues in the North Yorkshire Climate Coalition, regards David’s net zero and biodiversity related ambitions and influencing as much as we can at this critical time for the planet.
