Andy and Kathy Swinscoe of The Courtyard Dairy were named by famous British restaurateur, broadcaster, and chef Prue Leith as one of her ‘Food Heroes’.
Prue highlighted that she chose Andy and Kathy for their dedication to supporting family farms and helping new farms diversify into cheesemaking. She praised the “high level of care offered to small farmers new to cheesemaking” and the sterling ethos behind the partnerships, which involves “teaching farmers traditional methods of cheesemaking that produce distinct and wonderful cheeses.”
Kathy was thrilled to be featured, saying, “Such great recognition goes to show that all the hard work Andy and the team at The Courtyard Dairy do—working closely with family farms to capture the uniqueness of their milk and make truly special cheese—is all worthwhile. It’s great when people step into our shop, connect with the farm, and go away knowing they’re supporting family businesses.”
The Food Heros feature was part of ITV’s Prue Leith’s Cotswold Kitchen (broadcast Saturdays at 8:25am on ITV1).
